Christopher A. Schmidt
Christopher A. Schmidt is a Texas attorney with more than twenty years of experience across business, entertainment, media, and intellectual property law.
His work spans music, television, film, internet technology, social media, direct sales, and federal regulatory compliance. He has advised producers and songwriters, recording artists, radio and television personalities, entrepreneurs, executives, direct sales companies, and private investors on the agreements behind their work.
Much of his career has been spent in senior in house roles as well as in private practice. That shapes how he approaches outside counsel work: the business objective comes first, and the legal analysis serves it.
Outside the practice he builds and operates technology and media businesses in the music industry, which keeps him close to how the business actually works rather than how it worked a decade ago.
He is a member of the Forbes Business Development Council and has published articles on business development for Forbes.
He is licensed in Texas. He was admitted in Virginia in 2001, where he began his career, and that license is currently on inactive status.
